Subscription Boxes

Who doesn’t love getting packages in the mail? It is almost like Christmas morning every time there is a delivery. I had seen several YouTube video unboxings and people on my friends list posting their boxes. One that I kept seeing over and over again was Grove Collaborative.

After Bug was born and he came home, I knew taking him to the store wasn’t the best idea. Being a preemie, his immune system needed extra time. I started doing order pickups for groceries. Then one day I got an email for a free gift from Grove and since I did need some cleaning products I figured I would give it a try. I did my order and it arrived within a weeks time.

Most of this was in the free gift with purchase. I paid for the floor cleaner, wipes, and toothpaste with the toothbrush.

I was the most excited about having a new floor cleaner to try. We have a lot of wood and tile. Muddy paws, sandy shoes, and everything else that lands on the floors tend to make me a little coocoo.

To be honest, I didn’t think any of the products were any better than what we had already been using as far as quality of the clean. However, considering the products are all environmentally friendly, pet and kid friendly, I feel like it is a safer way to clean. I do also love the fact that the plant based sponges are washable!

I did decide to cancel the subscription. All of these products can be found in Target and other local stores. But, if you like free gifts and packages at your door, then give it a try!

Another subscription service that I came across multiple times was Stitch Fix. Stitch Fix is a styling subscription box. You fill out what you like and don’t like. You tell them your style based on pictures. You tell them what events you have coming up. Then you also tell them your budget, low, medium, or high. After all the questionnaires, you set up your delivery date. I decided to give it a try when I got a coupon for no styling fee and $25 off purchase. I figured since I had gained weight back after Bug was born and my last years wardrobe didn’t fit too well, that it was justifiable to try it out.

I set the date for when I knew I would have the extra money to spend; assuming that I like something or everything. I told them I only want clothes for cold weather and not to include shoes or accessories as I don’t wear much of them.

My box arrived 2 days early and I immediately opened it and tried everything on. I was eagerly hoping for something new to wear to Phantom Of The Opera.

They send a few different cards. One being a style guide with the items in your box.

The first thing I tried on was the jeans.

I actually really like how they look and fit. So, I tried on all the tops with the pants.

Though I did like everything in my box, after seeing the price I just knew I couldn’t justify keeping them. I had purposely marked “the cheaper the better” when I signed up and yet all the items were from $38 to $70. As a stay at home mom with 3 kids and only one income, that price just wasn’t going to cut it for me. So, what else was there to do than to return it all? I don’t know if I will do another StitchFix or not.

I have really been into thrifting so I get more for my money. I will probably do that this weekend. Maybe I will take you shopping with me! Are you following me on Instagram?
