To my surprise Chris actually had the day off today! Thank you ole man winter!
Our Christmas eves are typically spent with his side of family. This morning we went to visit Granny [his grandma]. She actually made it out of her bed today, which made me feel a little bit of relief. I am still constantly worried about her.
We came to his parents straight after leaving Granny. Shortly after, Chris’ brother and his kids arrived. The kids immediately went into play mode, running up and down the stairs chasing each other. His mom made ham and bean soup and some snacks. After a bit, Chris’ sister in law came and it wasn’t too long after when we opened presents.

Everyone seemed happy with their gifts. It didn’t take long for the kids to start running around again. We spent time reminiscing and snacking.
Soon we will head home and get these kids ready for bed. I know I am ready for sleep! I woke up at 3am today to make sure our elf friend was doing okay and to wrap the last few items. I did get a couple hour nap in afterwards. Needless to say this mama is tired! I did find a few things I read that I felt compelled to share today.

And then this one [grab the tissues!]

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Santa comes tonight!
