Happy Monday everyone!
We have 11 days left until Christmas day. I am still trying to figure out where this year went. “Time keeps on slippin, into the future.”
Anyway..
Every year around my birthday, Chris’ work usually has a Christmas/safety party. This year because of the pandemic they decided not to have one. It didn’t really bother us to not have one. We were in the car the other day and we were talking about Santa. Monkey says, “this is the first time we haven’t seen Santa.” I was thinking, we have never forced them to see Santa. I guess we did go to the Shriner’s event last year and saw him there. Then it occurred to me, every year we have seen Santa at the work Christmas party. I didn’t think that would be something a 3, almost 4, year old would even remember.
So, I started looking into “seeing Santa” just to see what, if anything, there even was. And man are things just seeming very strange this go-round!
Ways you can still “see” Santa
-My brother and his wife had a video chat with Santa with their kids. It was actually very cute and personalized more than any live experience.
– Some stores, like Bass Pro Shop, still have an area to see Santa. However, it isn’t a live person! It is just a backdrop with Santa on it that you can sit in front of for a picture.
-Other places, have the selfie option. Santa sits behind a plexie glass and you can take a masked selfie with him.
-Then I have seen some advertisements for photoshopping your photo into a picture frame that Santa is holding. I have seen this go for around $70!!
It bewilders me to see these options. I totally understand the why, but to me it seems a bit crazy. We are just going to roll with things the way they are. I don’t feel the need to pay to see a backdrop haha. If I was to pick an option I would do the video chat with Santa, but I think we are fine without.
How do you feel about the options to see Santa? Do you have to see Santa every year?
