To say things have been difficult this year would be the understatement of the century. I really wasn’t sure about Blogmas this go round, but the more I keep looking back on my older posts, the more I feel compelled to keep it going. It has become my tradition that is basically my own, something I do for my own enjoyment. And let’s face it, traditions are the normalcy we could all use right now.
I have always been a Christmas fanatic. I use to say if I could have Christmas all year round, I would. I usually get eager right after Halloween to decorate for Christmas. This year, it just hasn’t been the same. My gung-ho Christmas spirit just seems to be lacking. Maybe it is just from the year we are having, I don’t know. I think it is also because I feel like last Christmas was maybe 4 months ago. How are we here again already!?
I have been slowly integrating Christmas decor into the house. I’m not going to lie, I have sort of been forcing myself to do it. Once I get it done though, I can feel the joy creeping in. There is just something about the glow of warm Christmas lights that speaks to me and brings on the calm.
We are practically done with our Christmas shopping. I think all we have left are 2 people to buy for. We have everything else wrapped already and that makes me feel so good! More about that later, though 😉.
This blogmas will still hold some of the obligatory posts that I have been doing every year. I do plan on some new ones, too! I am going to really strive to only use my own pictures this year! Like the one in this post is our actual fireplace mantel.
Anything with lights makes me happy.
I hope you enjoy your holiday season, however and wherever you spend it. More than that though, I hope you and yours are warm and well.
