30 Day Minimalism Challenge: day 1

Alright so if you have been following me for awhile, you know that I like to do these monthly challenges that I find on pinterest. Well, if you had any clue in the title, here I am again to do another one! This time it is the 30 day minimalism challenge. Somedays may be more pictures than words and vice versa, but I am excited to knock this one out!

Now I tend to do this every few months. Usually it is just because I will realize I have stopped loving what is in my closet. I try to get rid of things before buying new (or thrifted) items because otherwise the closet becomes pure chaos.

Now for starters, we are currently in the process of redoing our bedroom, hence the clutter on the floor that I haven’t gotten to yet. But! After this purge I plan to fully take care of it!

So here is what I am currently looking at.

Ugh. It makes me cringe seeing the madness. So first thing is first, I am going to go through each piece of clothing and essentially do the KonMari method with it. Whatever I decide doesn’t fulfill me anymore will be listed on my poshmark closet, which can be found here!

It took me about 20 minutes to go through and list the clothes that I no longer need. Now onto the mayhem! (104pm).

Okay it is now 341pm and after dealing with a crazy threenager thinking all her barbie’s butts are dirty and in need of sink baths and an hour of a baby screaming because he doesn’t want to lay by himself for a nap; here is where I am.

I went through all the paper and sorted it between filing away and garbage. I also still need to go through the clean laundry in the hamper. Have mercy on my soul haha. Almost done!! I have to take a temporary break though since the kiddos are being goobers and Chris had to run an errand really quick. 4pm.

And just like that an item sold from my closet! Woohoo!

Okay back at it I go! 419pm.

Alright 554pm and I am finally done.

All the papers have been shredded or filed. I have a few more things to list on poshmark, but I am hungry so I will do that after dinner! It feels good getting things done! Especially the things that haunt me constantly.

Have you cleaned your closet lately?
