Dear 2019,

What a year you have been.

Prior to your beginning, I was nothing but excited to see where you would take me.

Now, nearly half way over, I am cautiously optimistic that the second half will be better than the first half.

You have definitely been a challenge for me and my family.

You have taught me a lot about learning to let go of control.

While you have also taught me that anything can happen and reminded me that life is so very precious.

You have been a scary, trying, and frustrating one thus far.

At the same time, you have given me strength in ways I did not know existed within myself.

You have given me growth and confidence in the woman I am and who I want to be.

Though I know there are always lessons to be learned, I would very much appreciate a more subtle approach… if you don’t mind.
