Sometimes in order to keep your sanity you need to make changes.
This past weekend I made the choice to quit my job. A lot of factors went into this decision, but ultimately the most important factor was putting my overall wellbeing above the “benefits” I was getting from it.
I don’t think it has fully hit me quite yet, as I was only working 2 to 3 days a week as it was. However, now I am able to focus more on what is more important than a small paycheck and a discount card. It is just one less stress/trigger to deal with at this time.
As for the rest of things that are going on…
Last week I had to take the 1 hour glucose test that tests for gestational diabetes. I failed by 2 points. Seriously, 2 points. Which means Saturday I spent 4 hours at the lab in the hospital taking the longer glucose test, while fasting. I did wind up passing that one though, so yay!
A week or so ago, Pickle decided he was ready to move to the other bedroom that was being used as a playroom so that the new baby would have a room of his own. Over the weekend we got all the bedrooms rearranged. Then yesterday I finally got the baby’s room put together. It feels good getting things done. The downfall is my pelvis is definitely not happy with me. So today I am mostly taking it easy and relaxing.
Other than that….I have been going to the support group (NAMI) once a week which has helped a lot! Basically, just taking it a day at a time and dealing with whatever comes as best as I can.
How was your weekend? Have you made any big changes lately for the sake of sanity?
