How I Made $2,000 Blogging
You guys have no idea how excited I am to share this post with you!
I have been on WordPress for almost a year now. I have been a premium member and have had my wordads running since the beginning. So how did I make $2,000?
Long dramatic pause.
I didn’t 😮
Nope, I did not make $2,000. Heck, I barely made a fraction of $2,000 in a year’s time.
I see it all the time on Pinterest and through the reader “make thousands of dollars a month by just writing on a blog”. Come on you guys, this might as well be considered fake news!
There is not a way to make a crap load of money, in blogging, in a short period of time.
If you get into blogging thinking you’re going to quit your job, then I would tell you that you have lost your mind.
Earning money blogging is a process that takes time. Building up your followers takes time. The more you post, the more likely you will have people following you. You have to be persistent. You have to publish work that draws people in all of the time. You have to be unique. You have to be real. You have to be willing to be vulnerable. You have to dig into the depths of the blogging world by reading and responding to other blogs. Every comment and like on someone elses page is like free advertising for your own. You have to put the effort in to get anything (financial) out of it.
I don’t recommend starting a blog to someone who doesn’t enjoy writing. I don’t recommend starting a blog to someone who doesn’t enjoy reading. I don’t recommend starting a blog to someone who expects to earn a paycheck that you can live off of (for quite some time).
I do recommend starting a blog if you have something to say. If you have a unique perspective and can put it into words with imagery. I recommend having a blog, even if its just an open diary for yourself.
Never just be in it for the money.
Perhaps one day you will quit your job and live off of your blog earnings. Have those goals and dreams. I just want you to get the real scoop and not the fake news that I have seen spewed all over the internet.
That is my rant for today.
