I use to be that person who felt deprived on a diet. I would think “oh this one piece of pizza won’t hurt” and then throw the diet in the gutter. I would feel judged when people would tell me “you only live once, eat what you want” when I would try to make good decisions about food. I would feel a sense of shame when everyone around me was guzzling junk into their bodies that I “couldn’t” have.
Things are different now.
I don’t care if people judge me. I refuse to put crap in my body again. I no longer feel deprived of “enjoying” junk food because I know what it does to me. I am not going to start back at ground zero when I have been doing so well. It is no longer, “I can’t” have those foods it is “I won’t” and “don’t want” those foods.
This time things are different. It isn’t a diet, it’s a lifestyle. It’s about the feelings that I have changed within myself for this to stick. I’m important and my body is important. I no longer feel held hostage by judgements and guilt. It is a great feeling to be in control!

I am so trying to get to that point, of not wanting to put junk into my body. I’m still at the point of wanting to gorge but I can’t.

It’s not that you can’t, because you can if you choose to. It is more so of I won’t that has helped me get to this attitude change!

I love that mindset. I’ve been living that mindset for a long time and now I really don’t want those things. I’m not deprived, I’m healthy. And when others wonder why I am so thin, I tell them I like to feed myself good things.
