Invest In Yourself Everyday

As a mom, it is easy to put yourself last on your list of priorities. The other day I posted The Time Is Now about putting myself back in the forefront.

Normally, I do not put much effort into my appearance. Not because I don’t want to, but because by time I have a minute to myself, putting on makeup and pretty clothes is not usually top 5 on my mind.

The last 2 days I have been making more of an effort to make myself a priority. The results? Keep reading 😉

Now that Pickle is in school, it has made us get on a routine during the day. That routine includes waking up about 930am, making and eating breakfast, cleaning up the breakfast mess, and getting both kids dressed for the day.

Up until recently, Poppy hadn’t been doing so well at entertaining herself. It made finding time for me, a little bit more difficult. Now, she has begun entertaining herself better. This allows me to put her in her playpen with toys while I am able to focus on myself.

It is amazing what 20 minutes of investing into yourself can do. Okay, not like I didn’t know this before, but I am becoming more self aware.

When I have that time to make myself feel good about how I look, it makes for a productive and happy day. It is like throwing cold water on your face to wake up. At first your dragging a little (tired), but then when you’re all done you feel like you can conquer anything; you are awake.

When I take the time to feel good about myself, I hardly feel like sitting down. I feel more productive and motivated to do things. Like, getting the chores done before Pickle has to go to school.

Instead of feeling cranky and depressed for feeling like a frumpy man, I feel happy and put together.

Overall it is a good feeling. I guess I should add that to my Tips For Getting Out Of A Funk post. It truly does help, even if you don’t feel motivated to do it. I promise it is worth it. You are worth it.

I challenge you to make it a part of your daily routine, to do whatever it is you need to, to make you feel put together on the outside.

Let me know if it helped you at all in the comments!
