Justice for Pete

I wanted to talk about something that is near and dear to my heart.

Peter Barges was a devoted father. He was invested in his son’s life from day one. Pete, as everyone called him, spent every day doing everything he could for his son. He was his pride and joy.

His son viewed him as a hero. They enjoyed playing and watching basketball together. They did everything together. They were each other’s world.

You see, his son, is also my brother.

Unfortunately, on the night of January 22, 2009 my brother’s father was murdered in the driveway of his own home.

My brother, who was 10 years old, was in the house when this brutal attack occurred.

Unfortunately, the suspect, Rafael Jiminez, was not arrested and is still somewhere out there today. It is believed that he fled to somewhere in Mexico.

I figured with the platform that I have, there is a greater chance that this story can spread further across the world. With hopes that this murderous coward be found and my brother, his family, and Pete can finally rest a little easier knowing this man is behind bars for good.

Here are the charges pending against the suspect:

  • Warrant 1831887, Jiminez is charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Use of a deadly weapon, other than a firearm, to commit a felony.
  • Warrant 1815096, Jiminez is charged with Assault by Strangulation and Terroristic Threat.

Anyone with information is asked to call Omaha Police at 402-444-7867.

PLEASE SHARE AND GET THIS MAN PUT WHERE HE BELONGS!!!!

  1. The problem is that the murder happened in the US and the murderer is in Mexico, so with all the international stuff coming into picture, it is really hard to pin him down.
Even in my country, this is a very serious problem, terrorists articulate and execute public bomb blasts and firings killing scores of people and then they flee to terrorism supporting nations such as Pakistan or UAE etc. All we can do is appeal in the UN for them to pin down the perpetrator but justice is never served.
The best bet to get justice for Pete (RIP) would be to catch hold of the murderer when he is in your country itself.

    1. Yes, but if there is anything I can do to help bring this more in the public’s eye, I am all for it! He needs to be found or turn himself in. It is sad that people do these things and can carry about a normal life while many, many others have to suffer the loss.
